In April of 2009, disaster struck the Middletown valley when Francie
Billotti- Wood and her three children, Chandler, Gavin and Fiona, were
killed shortly after moving back to Middletown from Jacksonville,
Florida. Devastated, Francie’s parents, Sam and Mary Frances Billotti,
turned to the Community Foundation to create The C.G.F. Francie
Billotti-Wood Scholarship Fund. “In the midst of all this terrible
tragedy, my parents wanted to honor Francie’s memory,” says Angela
Phillips, Francie’s sister.
The Fund awards scholarships to deserving students, with preference
given to graduates of Middletown High School. Applicants should have
achieved an outstanding record of community service, have an interest
in environmental conservation and organic living, and intend to have a
career in nonprofit work.
Those who are unable to participate in the Rally in the Valley Golf
Classic may still support The C.G.F. France Billotti-Wood Scholarship
Fund by

The Community Foundation of Frederick County and mailed to 312 East
Church Street, Frederick, Maryland, 21701, with the fund name on the
memo line.
The Community Foundation is Frederick County’s premier organization
for promoting local philanthropy and charitable giving. Of the
600-plus funds held with the Community Foundation, many offer
community members a way to honor family members by honoring their
legacies, just as The C.G.F. Francie Billotti-Wood Scholarship Fund
does. For more information on the Community Foundation or for further
inquiries, visit www.cffredco.org,
