Jane Talarico and Michael Paskowsky established The Nicholas Talarico Paskowsky Memorial Fund to honor the memory of their son, Nicholas Talarico Paskowsky, after his death in 2004 at the age of 20. A 2002 Frederick High School graduate, Nicholas Paskowsky was a history major at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and was scheduled to spend a semester abroad in Costa Rica before his untimely death. The Fund awards annual scholarships to Frederick High School graduates to attend a two-or four-year college or university and also provides assistance to St. Mary’s College of Maryland students to study abroad, particularly to Spanish-speaking countries.
Nick’s memory lives on through the four scholarships that have been awarded to date to Frederick High School seniors pursuing a post-secondary education, and to the four upperclassman at St. Mary’s College of Maryland who have been able to enhance their studies through enriching international study and travel programs, said Michael Paskowsky. “We want to continue to have an impact on people’s lives, and the support of the annual fundraiser at Camden Yards makes sure that the memory of Nick’s life will continue to touch the future.”
Those unable to participate in the baseball fundraiser may still support The Nicholas Talarico Paskowsky Memorial Fund to make future scholarship awards possible. Tax-deductible contributions are accepted at any time in any amount
and may be made online by clicking
