Golf Tournament Scheduled
April 27, 2009: The Ninth Annual Julie Ann Robertson Cashour Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009, at Whiskey Creek Golf Club in Ijamsville to raise funds for The Julie Ann Robertson Cashour Memorial Fund held by The Community Foundation of Frederick County. Organizations serving people with neurofibromatosis or researching a cure for the disease as well as to those within the community coping with a terminal illness benefit from grants from the Fund which honors the memory of the late Julie Ann Robertson Cashour, who succumbed to neurofibromatosis at the age of 36.
The golf tournament begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. The entry fee is $200 per person and includes cart and green fees, use of the driving range, breakfast buffet, lunch, dinner buffet, drinks, and more. Closest to the pin, longest drive, putting contests and raffles are planned.
Registration forms are due by June 5, 2009, and may be obtained by contacting Jeff Robertson at 301.639.3737 or

“Our families are so grateful to those whom have supported our efforts over the years,” said Jeff Robertson on behalf of the Robertson and Cashour families. “Even as we face a fragile economy, individuals and businesses in and around our community continue to demonstrate their generosity. I am confident that the success of the JARC Memorial Tournament will endure through this year and in the years to come”
In just nine years, The Julie Ann Robertson Cashour Memorial Golf Tournament has raised over $151,000, portions of which are used to award annual grants in keeping with the Fund’s charitable purpose. Tens of thousands of dollars in grants have been awarded to many causes including the National Neurofibromatosis Foundation in New York, Kline Hospice House in Frederick, Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, the Brain Tumor Society, The NF Cure Project, and Neurofibromatosis Mid-Atlantic, Inc. for Camp New Friends.
