Grant Application Training Set for September 9
August 21, 2009: The Community Foundation of Frederick County is pleased to announce that nonprofits can learn more about its FY10 grant application process at the Community Foundation Grants Training Program on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., at the C. Burr Artz Public Library.
All prospective applicants should attend this important informational program designed to guide applicants through the Community Foundation Universal Comprehensive Grant Application process as well as the changes to this year’s application. Those interested in attending should RSVP by September 2 to

The Community Foundation is currently accepting applications for FY10 grant funding through October 1. With over $217,000 available, area 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, existing governmental agencies, newly formed groups temporarily addressing a need or creating an organization to answer an emerging community need, religious organizations proposing funding for non-sectarian activities, and long-standing community service or civic groups that are not a 501(c)(3) organization are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be providing a direct, positive impact in Frederick County, Maryland.
Funding may be used for one-time purchases, capital expenditures, start-up costs for programs in existence less than three months at the time of application, fulfillment of wishes, camperships, activity subsidies, or other purposes as outlined in the application. Information about the 19 grant funds is available on
the Community Foundation Universal Comprehensive Grant Application, the only application needed to apply for any or all of the grants.

here. Completed application packages with required attachments are due, not post-marked, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2009, without exception, at the Community Foundation’s office. Electronic submission of grant applications is not accepted.
