The Stephen J. Eshman and George E. Randall Memorial Fund was founded by Dr. James Steinberg, Douglas Spingola, and William Orr to honor the memory of their late friends who both died of brain tumors. The Fund awards grants for the research of brain tumors and provides assistance for patients with brain tumors.

“We look forward to another successful golf tournament so that more funds are available for research and for the organizations that assist patients with brain tumors,” said Mr. Orr who noted that, to date, the Fund has awarded $40,000 to such organizations as the Brain Tumor Society, Hospice of Frederick County, Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Accelerate Brain Cancer Care.

Since 1986, generous citizens seeking to create positive and lasting change throughout Frederick County have depended upon the credibility and expertise of the Community Foundation to fulfill philanthropic dreams that benefit a variety of causes. Over one-fourth of the funds held by the Community Foundation honor the memories of deceased loved ones by continuing to touch lives in meaningful ways in their names. Since 1986, more than $19 million has been awarded in grants to area nonprofit organizations and in scholarships to students seeking to further their education.

Those who wish to make a difference in the lives of people suffering from brain tumors may make a secure online donation to The Stephen J. Eshman and George E. Randall Memorial Fund at www.cffredco.org by clicking on “contribute” in the upper right hand corner. Checks made payable to The Community Foundation of Frederick County, may be mailed to 312 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701, with the Fund’s name inserted in the check’s memo line. All check or online contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
