Scholarship Awarded to
Walkersville FFA Alumni
October 15, 2008: The Community Foundation of Frederick County is pleased to announce that Walkersville FFA Alumni Brittany Ramsburg is the recipient of the Community Foundation’s first Clayton Lenhart Memorial Scholarship.
A 2005 graduate from Walkersville High School, Brittany is currently pursuing an agri-business degree at University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
“It means a lot to me to be the first recipient of the scholarship created in Mr. Lenhart’s memory,” says Ms. Ramsburg. “Mr. Lenhart was always one to help kids succeed, and this will help me fulfill my dream of becoming an agriculture major.”
The Walkersville FFA Alumni Association created The Clayton Lenhart Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Community Foundation shortly after his sudden death in February, to honor his memory and lifelong support of the FFA by providing scholarships to alumni attending a two- or four-year college or trade or technical school.
“As a lifetime farmer in the agricultural field, Clayton Lenhart wanted to see kids excel to the best of their abilities,” says Tom Johann, member of the FFA Alumni Association. “The FFA Alumni Association is proud to honor his memory by awarding scholarships to students in the agricultural field and hopes to see The Clayton Lenhart Memorial Fund continue to grow so it will be able to offer more and larger scholarships in the future.”
