IMMERSION ACTIVE OPENS ELDER HERO FUND

July 17, 2008: Seeking a meaningful way to make a difference in the lives of older adults in Frederick County, baby boomer and senior marketing organization Immersion Active decided to do something special for its tenth anniversary this August by establishing The Immersion Active - Elder Hero Fund at The Community Foundation of Frederick County.

By providing support to organizations, programs, and initiatives that promote vitality, quality of life, and respect for older adults, The Immersion Active - Elder Hero Fund is just the beginning of a company-wide effort to enhance the lives of older adults in the area, said David Weigelt and Jonathan Boehman, Immersion Active partners. They said that through their work, the staff at Immersion Active has come to appreciate the wisdom and perspective that come with age. “We are proud to commemorate our tenth anniversary with The Immersion Active - Elder Hero Fund and look forward to making it an integral part of who we are as a company.”

Both Weigelt and Boehman say that the guidance and expertise of the Community Foundation was instrumental in their efforts to give back. “We are thankful to have an organization like the Community Foundation that allows us to give purpose to our work in a way that so directly impacts our immediate community. We encourage everyone to become involved.”
