Foundation Fund to Benefit Chapel Lutheran Church
October 27, 2008: Lifelong community member Mildred Nicodemus has found the ideal way to honor the memory of her parents, C. Raymond and Helen Crum, by opening The C. Raymond and Helen Crum Memorial Fund for Chapel Lutheran Church at The Community Foundation of Frederick County to support the general operations of Chapel Lutheran Church for generations to come.
Chapel Lutheran Church, located at 11109 Daysville Road, Frederick, is a stand-alone church dedicated to the care and well being of others. It is also the final resting place for Mildred’s parents, C. Raymond and Helen Crum, who attended Chapel Lutheran when they were first married. Over 60 years later they are now buried in Chapel Lutheran’s cemetery alongside Mr. Crum’s family.
As farmers in the Frederick County area, Mr. and Mrs. Crum were valued members of the community and had a strong connection with the Church.
“Even after mother and dad started attending another church in Frederick, Chapel Lutheran remained close to their hearts and they always felt as if they were still part of the congregation,” says Mildred. “This new Fund will help to support Chapel Lutheran and I know my parents would be pleased.”
Through The C. Raymond and Helen Crum Memorial Fund for Chapel Lutheran Church, those who wish to support its general operations and follow in the charitable footsteps of Mildred Nicodemus may make a secure online donation.
