Creeger House Receives Grant

FREDERICK, MD – April 3, 2017: Once the home of Col. John R. Rouser, a Civil War soldier and prominent Maryland state legislator, Make A Diff Crop jpgCreeger House in Thurmont, Maryland is now a historic landmark and home to the Thurmont Historical Society.

To help with its repair and maintenance, the first grant in the amount of $1,349.68 from The Make A Difference in Thurmont Fund was recently presented to Historical Society members. The fund is one of more than 679 component funds managed by The Community Foundation of Frederick County. The fund was created by Susan Favorite, with her 2011 Wertheimer Fellow for Excellence in Volunteerism Award, for the purpose of providing grants and scholarships benefitting organizations and residents of Thurmont.
