Community Foundation Welcomes Five New Trustees

FREDERICK, MD – October 31, 2016: The Community Foundation of Frederick County welcomes five new members to its board of trustees: Michael Delauter, Esq., Tobias Gregory, Rachel I. Mandel, MD, MHA, Daniel J. Schiffman, and James D. Summers, CPA.

Michael Delauter, Esq., is Principal of The Law Offices of Michael H. Delauter, LLC, Frederick, Maryland, established in 2012. Previously, he was Michael Delauter.webemployed by Miles & Stockbridge, P.C. and served as the Managing Principal of the Frederick office. Mr. Delauter has volunteered with numerous local organizations, including Frederick County’s Affordable Housing Council, Mental Health Association of Frederick County, and Grossnickle Church of the Brethren. Currently, he serves on the board of Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc., and is Chairman of the Planned Gifts Committee for Frederick Memorial Hospital. Mr. Delauter is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Maryland Bar Association, and the Frederick County Bar Association.

Tobias Gregory.webTobias Gregory is President of CRW One Group, LLC, in New Market, Maryland, an information technology consulting, network management, and installation firm. He has supported numerous nonprofits, both locally and regionally, through corporate sponsorships such as Mt. Airy Youth Athletic Association and the Bulldogs Baseball League, Compass, Inc., Susan G. Komen Washington D.C. Race for the Cure, and scholarship sponsor for First Corinthians Baptist Church, Williamsburg, Virginia, supplying laptops and textbooks.

Rachel I. Mandel, MD, MHA is the Assistant Vice President of Medical Affairs for Frederick Memorial Hospital (FMH) in Frederick, Rachel Mandel.webMaryland. She was in private practice for 20 years in Frederick before transitioning into administration at FMH. Dr. Mandel currently serves on the Grants Committee of the Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County. She frequently is a speaker at seminars and health fairs locally. She is a member of FMH’s Order of The Good Samaritan and the Physician Champion for the Women’s Health Service.

Dan Schiffman.webDaniel J. Schiffman, is Wealth Management Advisor with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Frederick, Maryland. He has been recognized as a Forum Level Advisor in the top 300 national Northwestern Mutual advisors, and has been a community service award winner. His local volunteer activities include serving as Chairman of the Frederick Memorial Hospital Special Gifts Committee, past treasurer for Rotary Club of Carroll Creek and B’nai Abraham Synagogue, and board member with Advocates for Homeless Families and The Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs.

James D. Summers, CPA, is Senior Vice President and CFP for Woodsboro Bank in Woodsboro, Maryland. Prior to this, he was aJames Summers.web partner with RLH CPAs & Business Advisors. Mr. Summers’ volunteer service includes serving as treasurer with Rotary Club of Fredericktowne and also Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley. He has also served on the Advisory Committee of Frederick Community College’s accounting department, and Arc of Frederick County’s Form 990 Committee.

The Community Foundation of Frederick County, a public charity, was founded in 1986 by a group of community citizens as a conduit for donors to fulfill their charitable dreams by establishing permanent, named, component funds that award grants and scholarships to nonprofits and deserving students. To date, the Community Foundation has more than 679 funds that support health care, the arts, human service agencies, animal welfare groups, environmental organizations, faith-based organizations, educational institutions, scholarship programs, and other civic causes. Since its inception, more than $47 million has been given back to the Frederick County community.
