Mental Health Association of Frederick County Receives Grant Supporting Affordable Housing Guide
FREDERICK, MD – December 11, 2015: A grant from The Frederick County Association of Realtors Charitable Community Fund was recently presented to Mental Health Association of Frederick County (MHA). The fund is one of more than 675 component funds managed by The Community Foundation of Frederick County.
The $1,250 grant will support MHA's Annual Guide to Mental Health and Community Support Services, and the affordable housing section of the guide. This section of the guide lists all resources related to affordable housing, and the 2,000 guides are distributed through city and county agencies, Frederick County Public Schools, police departments, Frederick Memorial Hospital, and providers of mental health services.
The Frederick County Association of Realtors' Community Service Committee fundraises throughout the year to support various local nonprofits. "Supporting the community we live and work in is a core value of being a realtor," said Jennifer Grove, President, Frederick County Association of Realtors. "Helping to provide resources about affordable housing in the MHA guide fits with the goals of FCAR, and we are happy to be part of the solution to affordable housing options in Frederick County."
The Community Foundation works with individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to establish charitable funds that provide grants to area nonprofits serving the community and scholarships to students. Since 1986, more than $42 million has been provided.
