Nathan W. Farlow Memorial Fund Established at Community Foundation
FREDERICK, MD – October 30, 2015: To honor a life devoted to faith and the pursuit of excellence, The Nathan W. Farlow Memorial Fund for Excellence has been established by Nathan's family members. The fund becomes one of more than 675 component funds managed by The Community Foundation of Frederick County.
The fund was established by his wife Jennifer, his parents Arnold W. and Elizabeth A. Farlow, and his siblings Catherine, Daniel, and Elizabeth Joy and will provide post-secondary scholarships to students who are active members of a faith-based organization and have demonstrated community volunteerism and leadership. Throughout his lifetime, Nathan possessed incredible internal drive, and is described by friends and family as having "lived 80 years of life in 26 years." He valued his role as husband and father and he inspired his friends and youth group students to live purposefully. Sadly, on October 5, 2014, Nathan's life was cut short by a drunk driver in Harris County, Texas.
"Extraordinary is the word that describes Nathan's person and actions," said Mr. Farlow. "He was a person of boundless energy and had an uncompromising commitment to excellence. His Christian faith was at the core of everything he did, including his goal of inspiring everyone around him by his own example."
Charitable memorial funds are one of the many ways The Community Foundation of Frederick County helps individuals, families, and organizations honor the memory of deceased loved ones by continuing to positively impact lives through grants and scholarships.
