Catherine A. Fox Therapeutic Fund Established at Community Foundation

FREDERICK, MD – October 20, 2015: To honor a life devoted to helping children, The Catherine A. Fox Therapeutic Fund for Special CathyFox.resizedNeeds Children has been established by family members. The fund becomes one of more than 675 component funds managed by The Community Foundation of Frederick County.

The fund was established in memory of Catherine "Cathy" Fox by Thomas M. Fox, brother; Margaret R. Fox-Zeigler, sister; and Mark Zeigler, brother-in-law, and will support services for children with special needs, disabilities, or chronic illness.

Cathy was a nationally renowned and respected occupational therapist who had a special gift for working with children with severe handicaps. While Cathy never had any children of her own, every child that Cathy helped became one of "Cathy's Kids," with their families keeping in touch long after her services were completed. This fund will honor her legacy of professionalism and care for children in need.

Charitable memorial funds are one of the many ways The Community Foundation of Frederick County helps individuals, families, and organizations honor the memory of deceased loved ones by continuing to positively impact lives through grants and scholarships.
