Community Foundation Presents Caring Samaritan Fund for the Aging
FREDERICK, MD – September 1, 2015: A new fund to support the well-being of aging seniors who are 60 years and older in Frederick County has been established. The Caring Samaritan Fund for the Aging becomes one of more than 675 funds managed by The Community Foundation of Frederick County.
Created by Dr. Joseph I. Berman and Donald C. Linton, grants from the fund are meant to be flexible and meet the immediate needs of the elderly. "The idea of the fund is to provide grants that can be accessed quickly to solve a problem that would make a substantial difference for an individual," said Dr. Berman. "These grants could make the difference between an individual aging in place or going to a nursing home."
