Community Foundation Presents Cathie Duncan Speech-Language Scholarship
FREDERICK, MD – July 21, 2015: The first scholarship from The Cathie Duncan Speech-Language Fund has been presented to Kyrsten Staab. The fund is one of more than 660 component funds of The Community Foundation of Frederick County.
Founded by Catherine and William Duncan, the fund provides scholarships to Frederick County residents with preference to those studying speech and language pathology at the post-secondary and/or graduate level. Ms. Staab, a graduate of Urbana High School, will be attending Towson University, majoring in speech-language pathology.
By working with individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to establish charitable funds that provide deserving students with scholarships, the Community Foundation is among the leading local resources to help students reach their educational goals. Since 1986, more than $42 million has been provided in educational scholarships and grants to nonprofit organizations.
