Community Foundation Announces Frederick County Libraries Fund
FREDERICK, MD – July 7, 2015: A new fund to support the operation and special activities of local public libraries has been established. The Frederick County Public Libraries Fund becomes one of more than 660 funds managed by The Community Foundation of Frederick County.
Created by Frederick County Public Libraries Board of Trustees, grants from the fund will help all branches of the library system achieve its goal of meeting the educational and recreational needs of county residents. "By establishing this fund, we will be able to continue with the programs and presentations that the public has come to love," said Darrell Batson, Director, Frederick County Public Libraries. "These include programs such as Frederick Reads and Summer of Wonder, and other similar offerings throughout the year. In addition, we plan to expand our programming so that more people in the community can participate, such as offering more programs in Spanish, and providing interpreters for those who are hearing impaired."
Gifts supporting the fund are accepted from the general public. To make a secure, online donation to The Frederick County Public Libraries Fund, visit www.FrederickCountyGives.org/FCPL. Checks made payable to The Community Foundation of Frederick County may be mailed to 312 East Church Street, Frederick, Maryland, 21701, with the name of the specific fund on the memo line. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
